Well with the install of my A/C into my truck I cut out all the aftermarket wiring that was half assed by myself and the PO of my truck.
Mess No mess Part of the rats nest removed. So now that's its all gone i need to rewire it the right way. Some of the things I need to wire are: OBA pump ARB locker CB Hella 500's Piaa fog lights/running lights Headlights Lo Headlights Hi Reverse lights Interior LED's 2x 12V outlets Inverter I'm going to wire from the battery to a 100amp breaker. I already got one of those from SMI electronics in Langley great people there and lots of electrical parts. I got it for $50 from them an bit more than this link but I get to support a Canadian company. http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/ind...t_detail&p=185 Then from the breaker to a Blue Sea 12 circuit fuse box. I have not found this local yet. I found a Canadian supplier and ordered it from them, hope to have it here in the next few weeks. http://ca.binnacle.com/product_info....oducts_id=5206 The wiring from the battery to the breaker will be 4 gauge and then out of the breaker two 6 gauge wires one fore the stock fuse box and one of the auxiliary panel. think that maybe a bit over kill on size and may go smaller. For relays I will be using Hella 30a, I have never had a problem with them and they are good in wet areas. I'm looking at a number of mounting solutions for them. I did have a Hella 4 relay mount in my Supra but had some problems with it, mainly getting the wires underneath the mount to the relays. So I am still working (in my head) on this part of the project. Goals for the mounting is easy to get too and easy to change if needed. For all the wiring that needs to go though the fire wall I am going to use weather tight bulkhead fitting. I will need to find a spot to drill a 1.5" hole to install it but should be easy. I want to also liable all the relays and plugs so there is never any guess work needed by myself or the next owner as to what dose what. All the fuses will be marked as well. For the switches I will be moving my CB radio out of the din slit its in now and putting it in the ash tray spot. Then I will be making the open din spot into a switch panel with quality lit switches. They will also all be labeled. So for now all I have a 100a breaker and lots of plans + plus a good idea what I want in my head. I will also be rewiring all the battery leads with 1 gauge and all the grounds as well. This is a common thing on the Toyota 4runners and P/U's as the stock 8 gauge wiring is not up to snuff. I also have some new battery terminals on order, they are a military style and have a larger bolt for mounting wiring on. http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/ind..._detail&p=1010 ( I have ordered these from this company and if this order goes though with out issue I will get that blue sea fuse box from them too)

I was able to find my blue sea fuse panel at a marine shop on the bypass in langley. No good to yah now, but in the future maybe helpfull. SMI is an excellent place, I've used them quite a bit for work and personal stuff.
Gregg Distributors is also an excellent place to find random goodies you may be needing. |

SMI is a fantastic place, I really like it and use them a lot. They have an amazing selection of stuff in the back as well. I will be getting all the wiring and ends there next week.

sorry for the slow reply but right between the two larger egr pipes in that rusty tapped hole there should be a thermo switch from all the motors i've seen anyways.
what year is your 3.0? |

Interesting, mine is a late 93 production.
Funny thing is I do not have any lose plugs around there for a sensor. Thanks tho I will keep my eye open for one with it.

Those switch's are usually put right in the exhaust/egr stream, it would be a big leak and I doubt it would look so rusty there. That plus the check engine light would probably be on. I would suspect Jeremys wasn't equiped with it for what ever reason.
